The Thalassemia Society Pune Chapter (TSPC) continues its dedicated work through the Curb initiative, aiming to achieve a “Thalassemia Mukt Pune” by 2030. In collaboration with the Madhav Mukul Foundation (MMF), Rotary Club District 3131, Bajaj Finserv, JanaKalyan Raktapedhi, and Lifecell Diagnostics, we drive awareness programs across the Pune district. With the support of our esteemed partners, we arrange Thalassemia awareness talks at various colleges, institutes, and corporate organizations. Led by our President, Dr. Nita Munshi, these programs educate individuals over the age of 18 on Thalassemia and how to prevent the birth of Thalassemia Major. Beyond education, we ensure participants undergo free HPLC blood screening. Individuals identified as Thalassemia Minor receive professional counseling from TSPC medical experts. We recently visited several prestigious institutions, including Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Vishwakarma University, Indira College of Pharmacy, and Modern College, Pune. We are proud to share that we screened more than 8,000 individuals in the year ending March 2026.
