The Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) is the professional organization representing practitioners of obstetrics and gynecology in India. Thalassemia Society Pune Chapter (TSPC) had a great meet with Dr. Sunita Tandulwadkar ( FOGSI President ) along with Dr. Pooja Lodha (Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Pune). This meeting was held on 13th May at Ponna Club and well attended by over 20+ TSPC committee members.  Dr. Liza Bulsara greeted the esteemed guests, Dr. Sunita and Dr. Pooja.  FOGSI President , Dr. Sunita, spoke about various activities, projects across India. Recently FOGSI has initiated a ” Mukta ” project which is targeted to bring awareness about Thalassemia. Mission to Unite to Keep Thalassemia Away (Mukta) . Dr. Sunita spoke about educating Gynecologists, regulating policies, implementing mandatory prenatal tests , spreading awareness across society across the nation. Dr. Pooja who is national coordinator for “Mukta” project also spoke about the need for spreading the awareness and HB Electrophoresis tests. We also had a motivational speech from our patron Mrs. Majethia madam.

Our president, Dr. Nita Munshi, spoke about TSPC activities ( Care-Cure-Curb )  and shared ideas on how best TSPC can work closely with FOGSI for the “Mukta” project. TSPC members are committed to join any initiatives, drives, projects with FOGSI to meet our goal of Thalassemia Mukta Pune and Thalassemia Mukta Bharat . Dr. Sweta Lunkad presented vote of thanks with a clear immediate action list for both organizations to work towards the noble cause of Thalassemia Mukta Bharat.
