Thalassemia Society Pune Chapter (TSPC) hosted a successful “Medical Check-up Camp” on November 9, 2025, at the Poona Club, Pune. The camp saw excellent participation, with 90 patients and their parents in attendance. Each patient received examinations and consultations from the following specialists:

– Hematologists: Dr. Liza Bulsara and Dr. Sweta Lunkad
– Endocrinologist: Dr. Swati Goray
– Hepatologist: Dr. Rupesh Lunkad
– Nutritionist: Mrs. Shilpa Joshi and Mrs. Ghata Pandya

Additionally, we arranged free blood glucose testing which was done by a phlebotomist from Ruby Hall Clinic – Courtesy iSense. We also had arranged free Dexa Scans for patients over 12 years of age, which were completed by approximately 55 patients.

Our President, Dr. Nita Munshi, and Secretary, Mr. Surendra Sitani, addressed the participants, discussing TSPC activities and encouraging them to utilize our resources for better care. We were also honored by the presence of our patron, Mrs. Jasmin Majethia, who delivered a motivational speech to the patients and parents. We had guidance from Ex-Rotary Governor Dr. Meena Patel and our TSPC active member, Mrs. Shikha Mitra addressed motivating the parents and patients. Some of our Thalassemia warriors also spoke about the importance of health check ups and regular follow up with doctors. Medical camp ended on a happy note with a special lunch at the venue.
